OJSC “Aptit” carries out exploitation of the Khibiny deposits of apatite-nepheline ores, their extraction and benefication. The enterprise located in Murmansk Region is among the first-rate world producers of phosphate raw materials used for production of mineral fertilizers.

OJSC “Apatit” is actually a huge modern mining and chemical complex comprising four mines and a concentrating complex, railroad and motor-car shops, as well as 20 other shops of auxiliary purpose. Scientific and experimental works on combined application of apatite-nepheline ores are performed by the Central Laboratory.

During 75 years of its existence OJSC “Apatit” extracted and processed more than one and a half billion tons of rock, produced more than 550 million tons of apatite concentrate and more than 50 million tons of nepheline concentrate. In addition, OJSC “Apatit” produces aegirite, grothite and titaniferous magnetite concentrates, nepheline coagulant-precipitator and paste “Skidra”.

 “Apatit” is a city-forming enterprise for Kirovsk and Apatity. Included in the enterprise balance-sheet are sanatorium-preventorium “Tirvas”, Palace of Culture, sports center comprising a stadium, covered hockey court, swimming pool and own Alpine skiing complex.
